News:

HQ reuploads and a very special new movie, or actually, 1939 television broadcast! (11-1-2010)
In the past few days, my Youtube channel has gotten a few hours of material more including something very special I suddenly found on my FTP!

Der Feldzug in Polen
This film presents the German account of the Polish Campaign of 1939, and as such is an interesting part of the historical record of the Second World War.
This film is also interesting because it was broadcast via the Fernsehsender Paul Nipkov in Berlin (German Television Broadcast).
From the fierce fighting in Danzig, to the struggles along the Vistula, Warta and Bug rivers, to the Siege of Warsaw, the viewer can get an instructive understanding of how devastating the German advance was on the Polish forces. The combat footage, shot by the famed Kriegsberichter and their cameramen, is absolutely first-rate, and it set the standard for all other combatants' efforts in this genre during the war. Compared with the American "Battle for San Pietro," for example, the footage in "Feldzug in Polen" is much better in terms of the cameramen capturing dramatic moments. Good editing is another highlight. Succinctly stated, this film is a military buff's delight.

Also new is just another Wochenschau, this one is Nr 621 from 29.07.1942. I also reuploaded the Wochenschau's from 22.06.1940 and 23.07.1941. I uploaded those in the time I still had to cramp my movies into 100mb, but now that isnt needed anymore I could reupload the much higher quality source which ofcourse also gets you better quality at Youtube!

(Links and pages being updated right now, comming right up!)

New movie added (13-12-2009)

Time for a new movie. First of the Few has been added for your pleasure. Watch HERE. It is a biography of R.J. Mitchell, the designer of the Supermarine Spitfire. The film's title refers to the words of Winston Churchill who, when speaking of the Battle of Britain aircrew said: "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."

And I see I forgot to place a link for Confessions of a Nazi Spy. Well if you click on these letters, you will be brought the the right page as well!

2300 photo's, first batch of 1940 radiobroadcasts added (24/11/2009)

In yet another update, all American photos are added to the website. You can watch them at the photos page. You will see links to a couple of pages with a couple of hunderd thumbnails each. If you click on them you see the real size. A 4.4gig hi-res unwatermaked package can be bought too. Furthermore even more radiobroadcasts have been added, with much more comming!

2 years of radiobroadcasts and a new movie added (22/11/2009)

Lots of new radiofragments from 1938 and 1939 have just been added. The broken umlaut problem stills exists, but is less rampant in this batch. Also a new American movie has been added: Confessions of a Nazi spy by Anatole Litvak, from 1939, starring Edward G. Robinson.

"Confessions of a Nazi Spy" opens with three seemingly unconnected sequences: an announcer reporting the recent conviction of members of a Nazi spy ring in America; a postal delivery to a woman called Mary McLaughlin in Scotland; and a Hitler-style address by a Dr Kassel to a rally held by a German-American organisation known as the Bund. The common link between the three sequences is a network of Nazi espionage and subversion centred on Franz Schlager, an officer on a German passenger liner, the SS Bismarck, which makes regular trips to New York. On the voyage from Germany, the Bismarck brings Nazi propaganda material for distribution by Kassel's organisation, and on the homeward run she takes US military plans and other classified information obtained by Schlager's agents. Schlager is also the ship's political leader. As such he is able to lord it over everyone, even the captain, and he warns the crew that they will not escape the `protecting eye' of their government even when they are on American soil - a veiled reference to the Gestapo, whose agents are seen keeping tabs on Germans in America. One of Schlager's recruits is a man called Kurt Schneider, who fancies himself as a spy. Initially Schneider has some success, partly because American security is wide open. He recruits a former army colleague, the simple-minded Werner, who is now a private in Army Air Corps. But he comes undone when he goes over Schlager's head and writes (via Mary McLaughlin) to Berlin, proposing the kidnapping of an American colonel. Tipped off by the postman, who has become suspicious of McLaughlin's frequent letters from abroad, British Military Intelligence arrests McLaughlin and tips off the FBI about Schneider. FBI agent Edward Renard, who has so far specialised in combating gangsters, now turns to counter-espionage and makes a clean sweep of the spy ring, including Kassel. When Kassel is released on bail, he gets a taste of his own medicine: he is kidnapped by the Gestapo and sent back to Germany, as others have been before him. As the remaining spies are convicted, spinning newspaper headlines report how the `fifth column' (pro-Nazi Germans) have used subversion and sabotage to pave the way for Hitler's conquest of Western Europe. Following the trial, a conversation between Renard and the attorney who prosecuted the case serves as a warning to Americans not to take their liberty, or their security, for granted.

Hitlerjunge Quex (20/11/2009)

Almost month has passed since the last update, so it is really time for something new. Tomorrow (it is uploading now) a new movie will be placed. Hitlerjunge Quex is a story about a boy at odds with his abusive and unemployed communist father. At a communist camp, the boy is disturbed by his comrades and joins the national socialists. Ultimatly a group of left-wing radicals hunts him down. It is one of the first nazi propaganda movies afther the takeover. Please do note that this is quite a 'heavy' film and I give it a 18+ rating.

American songs added (21/10/2009)

A nice list of American music has been added. As for now it are 31 songs in total. All music has low compression so you'll hear it like it was on the grammaphone! Included are the famous 'Der Führers Face' song, a song with Donald Duck and Marlene Dietrich sings Lili Marlene in English. This and much more can be listenend at this page.

Münchhausen added to the collection (18/10/2009)

The 1943 full colour movie Münchhausen has been added to the website. Though this film is from 1943, you will not say so! I guarantee you that you will be amased with both the picture quality and the techniques used. Münchhausen is the story about Baron von Münchhausen. The man who knew Catherine the Great, Count Cagliostro, Casanova and the man in the Moon's daughter. He rode on a cannonball and lived on the moon. He was the legendary Baron Münchhausen, and his exploits are celebrated in the most lavish colour film made during hte Third Reich.

Commissioned in 1941 by Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels to commemorate the twentyfifth anniversary of Germany's greatest film studio, UFA, Münchhausen became the biggest entertainment project of the Third Reich.  Münchhausen can be watched here.

New menu item: Propaganda shop

You may have noticed the Propaganda shop in the menu. I have installed a webshop where you will be able to buy DVD quality downloads and compilations of music files on this website. Prices will just be a couple of euro's each, it is mainly to pay the server costs. Please note that this website will remain free for ever, so do not worry I will suddenly lock down this website and start with subscriptions or something like that. However, DVD quality movies (which are 4gb or more) do bring some costs with it because of the bandwidth which is getting shoved over. Lower quality downloads will be avalible for free.

The shop is the lowest priority part of this website, so I will not be filled that much untill I have the huge archive of PHGA on my website, but feel free to take a look on what is already in it. You can buy the downloads via PayPal. Afther you buy something, the download link will be provided to you by e-mail.

If you got problems with buying any of the cds or (future) movies, feel free to ask me on the forum for help. You can use the same logindetails you used for buying the item(s) you wanted.
